Climate change poses a serious challenge for our community. Vancouver-Hastings needs a community-level climate action team to meet this challenge.
The Vancouver-Hastings Climate Action Team will put climate planning into action on local level - transitioning our community away from fossil fuels and helping us adapt to climate impacts in a socially just manner.
The Task Force will:
Engage the community with information sessions and resources (Townhalls, doorknocking, toolkits);
Develop local plans that align with the pillars of CleanBC:
Better Buildings
Reducing Carbon from Businesses
Reducing Emissions from Waste
Cleaner Transport
Clean Energy Jobs
Amplify available resources and programs to residents;
Help MLA Sharma engage with relevant stakeholders and decision-makers to direct investment and resources towards making the community climate ready.
